Some facts
- Full name: Jorge Andrés Pérez Parra (in Colombia it is common to have and use two 'first names' and two "last names').
- I was born in Bogotá (Colombia), on April 17th, 1983.
- I worked on practical aspects of Concurrent Constraint Programming (CCP), a declarative model of concurrency based on partial information (constraints) during 2003/2004.
- Then in 2005/2006 I did research on more theoretical aspects of CCP, mainly by studying applications of a CCP-based process calculus for reactive systems.
- My thesis dealt with both theoretical and practical aspects of (soft) constraint solving in the context of concurrency. It was supervised by Prof. Camilo Rueda.
- I got my Engineering Degree in Computer Science (5 years of coursework + a research thesis) on February 2006.
- Since January 2007 I am a PhD student ("dottorando") at the Department of Computer Science, University of Bologna. I am interested in the study of languages for analyzing concurrent systems and in the semantic/reasoning techniques associated to those languages.
- I am fluent in Spanish and English, and have some knowledge on Italian (PLIDA B2) and basic notions of French (DELF A2).
